Use this handy instructional to learn how to get rid of kitchen odors.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you locate the kitchen odors by smell, clean up the source. If not, clean your kitchen.

  2. Step 2

Empty wastebaskets and clean with a spray cleanser or other appropriate cleanser.

  3. Step 3

Empty your refrigerator and discard any foods that are beginning to spoil. Clean it with baking soda, or follow the manufacturer's instructions. Return the good food to the refrigerator. Leave an open box of baking soda in the refrigerator to absorb odors that might develop there.

  4. Step 4

Clean your stove top and the area under the burners. Clean your oven.

  5. Step 5

Clean your sink and counter tops. Clean the cupboard under your sink. Repair any leaks from freshwater or waste water pipes.

  6. Step 6

Mop your floor. Be sure to move your stove, refrigerator, and any movable counters or other furniture to clean under them.

  7. Step 7

Empty your cabinets and clean them thoroughly. Discard any stored food items that are going bad, and put the rest away.

  8. Step 8

If the odor remains, it may originate from under your floors or behind your walls.
