  1. Step 1

The most important thing to do first is make sure the power for the light fixture is off. Second start taking off the old light fixture, being careful not to cut any of the wires. Then your take your new light fixture from the box, getting all the parts ready to get up.

  2. Step 2

Get the light fixture bracket ready, have some one help, have them hold it so you can connect the wires. Connect the 2 black wires together, put the wire nut one and make sure you screw it all the way, so it won't short out. Next connect the 2 white wires, with the wire nuts, the same as you did with the black wires. Next connect the ground wires, on the new fixture the are usually green or silver. the wire from the old fixture is usually copper. connect these together with the wire nut as you did with the black and white wires. Now that all the wires are connect, screw the light bracket to ceiling making sure you anchor it, so it won't fall. Use the drill to screw the screw in. Put your light bulb in, if your have a globe to put on, put it on now.

  3. Step 3

Turn your power back on and go turn your light on. You now have your new light fixture installed.
