More and more people are taking cruises as a vacation. Many travelers think that cruising may not be for them, but after their first cruise they are converts. The cruise industry is reporting record growth in their business. This is because the value you receive on a cruise is unbelievable. You can enjoy the cruise experience for as little as $50 a night room and board per person. Of course there are more expensive and more upscale cruises for those who want to spend the money. Which ever cruise you may choose you will be delighted with the value you will receive. In this article I will give you some tips how to make your cruise vacation more enjoyable.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, you want to book your trip through a trained professional travel agent so all of your travel needs can be handled efficiently. Your transportation to the ship and back home along with all of your shore excursions can be planned and packaged together so you have no surprises on the day of your cruise.

  2. Step 2

Secondly, before you book any cruise make sure you choose the right cruise for you and your family. If you are taking children make sure you choose a child friendly cruise. If you are on a honeymoon choose a cruise that caters to adults. If you have special interests you may want to look for a cruise that may cater tothose special interests.

  3. Step 3

Third, I recommend choosing the second seating for dinner. This allows you more time for shore excursions or just time in your cabin before dinner to relax. If you are taking small children you may want to consider the early seating so you do not have hungry crying little children.

  4. Step 4

Fourth, be adventurous request a large table for meals. This is a good way to meet new people and become acquainted with some of your fellow passengers.

  5. Step 5

Fifth, before you sign up for shore excursions you may want to rent a car or higher a van for sightseeing. It may be a lot cheaper and a fun experience. Most rental places will give you maps and guide books of what there is to see in that port.

  6. Step 6

Sixth, buy a drink bracelet, this can save you a great deal of money.

  7. Step 7

Seventh, if you are going to buy some of the many photos that are taken on the ship you may want to wait to the last day of your cruise. On the last day they usually lower the price and make great deals.

  8. Step 8

Eighth, make sure you read the daily itinerary left in your room the night before. This way you will not miss any of the great activities that are offered. It will also alert you to the dress for dinner as well as special theme days.

  9. Step 9

Ninth, dress appropriately, ships have dress codes and specified attire based on what is happening at any particular time. I suggest you comply with the dress codes so you don't feel out of place.

  10. Step 10

Lastly, make sure you go with an open mind that you are going to enjoy yourself and have the greatest vacation of your life.
