How to Recycle Wallpaper Sample Books

Wallpaper sample books are a great way to view hundreds of different patterns, colors and styles from a manufacturer. However, many of these sample books are simply thrown out once a wallpaper manufacturer has updated and issued their newest designs. There are a variety of ways to recycle wallpaper sample books. Here are just a few ideas to get you started:

1. To find outdated wallpaper sample books, call or visit your local wallpaper or paint distributor, interior decorator or other businesses that may have sample books they'll be happy to give you.

2. Donate outdated sample books to your local Boys & Girls Club, YMCA after-school program or your child's school. Many of these organizations have very limited budgets for art supplies, and would welcome the donation for use in classrooms or kids projects.

3. Use wallpaper samples to decorate scrapbook pages, altered art books, greeting cards or even use as a background for a bulletin board. In general, wallpaper sample books are larger than the standard 12x12 scrapbook page. One sample can provide the background or embellishment for a variety of crafts.

4. Create a fresh style for closet doors, shelves, or even walls by recycling wallpaper samples. You can cut out block style letters or initials to paste on a wall or closet door; line a shelf or bathroom drawer; or create a wall display using framed prints of cut-down samples in coordinating colors.
