When the announcement was originally made, excitement buzzed among smart phone users who wanted to share their mobile videos via Twitter. Now they can instantly share clips of everything from a kids's first home run, to citizen journalism reports of news events.

With the success of TwitPic, an application that allows Tweeters to share photos, mobile video tweeting became a natural progression for Twitter fans. TwitPic has over 2.5 million users a month, reports "TechCrunch."

Celebrities and average users share photos online using TwitPic for their updates, making headlines around the world. • The TwitVid app for phone or computer
• A Twitter account

1. Open the TwitVid application to start tweeting video. The application is available for both BlackBerry and iPhones. Find the BlackBerry app on BlackBerry App World, and iPhone users can get it from the iTunes App Store. The apps are free to download.

2. Download the application to your phone. TwitVid enables you to post your TwitVids automatically to Twitter, as well as other social networking sites like Facebook and YouTube.

3. Simply open the app when you want to tweet a video. Select "Record a New Video" and shoot your video. The TwitVid site does not put a limit on video length; however, it's important to check both your carrier and your phone for file size restrictions.
