How to Make a Pistachio Salad Dessert
Pistachio Salad, or Watergate Salad, is a dessert that turns out green. That makes it ideal for St. Patrick's Day or even Christmas in some families. You can find a wide variety of recipes for the salad, but the basic salad needs pistachio flavoring, whipped cream and pineapples. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 box Pistachio instant pudding
- 1 large container of whipped cream
- 1 small can crushed pineapples (drained)
- 1 small container of cottage cheese (small cured)
- 1 small can mandarin oranges (drained)
- 2 cups of small white marshmallows

Combine the pudding and whipped cream in a bowl until the cream turns green.

Add 2 cups of small white marshmallows. Whip the mix lightly until the marshmallows blend into the pudding and cream.

Add the cottage cheese, which will not affect the taste much, followed by the crushed pineapples and mandarin oranges. Whip the dessert again until the ingredients blend into the mix.

Put the dessert in a bowl or container with a lid, or cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Refrigerate the dish for about 2 hours before serving it.

Tips & Warnings
I've indicated small white marshmellows, because this will not work with large marshmellows, and now that the stores carry colored marshmellows, I wanted to make sure that white marshmellows were used.
