Ahoy mate! Halloween is approaching quickly and you don’t want to be walking the plank without a costume. Jack Sparrow, the most famous pirate to sail the ocean blue, is a great costume idea for Halloween. Young and young at heart can have fun pretending to be this popular character from Pirates of the Caribbean. The Jack Sparrow costume is an easy and inexpensive way to dress up for Halloween if you follow these simple instructions.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Black eye makeup
  • Black face paint
  • Long, red silk scarf
  • Long sleeve white shirt, preferably with a long collar
  • Long, blue vest with buttons removed
  • Two wide belts with big buckles
  • Long, white scarf
  • Brown pants
  • Black boots
  • Ready-make plastic sword
  1. Step 1

Apply eye makeup around the eyes. Apply black face paint around mouth for the mustache and the beard.

  2. Step 2

Wrap the red scarf around the head and tie a knot at the side so that the tail of the scarf hangs over the shoulder.

  3. Step 3

Put on the pants and the white shirt. Then put the blue vest on over the white shirt.

  4. Step 4

Wrap the white scarf around the waist and tie it in a knot so that the tail hangs down on one side.

  5. Step 5

Put the two belts on. Rememeber to stack one belt on top of the other belt since this is how Jack Sparrow wore his in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean.

  6. Step 6

Put on the black boots. Make sure to tuck the pants in the tops of the boots. Don't forget to carry the sword to give your Jack Sparrow Halloween costume that extra little touch.

Tips & Warnings
  • To make the Jack Sparrow costume a little more realistic, you can wear a wig under the red scarf. Finding a wig of dreadlocks would be ideal, but if you can’t find that, then get a black wig and make your own dreadlocks.
  • Putting some brown, red and black beads on a string and attaching them to the red scarf will also add to the authenticity of the Jack Sparrow Costume.
