How to Make a Lighted Palm Tree
Lighted palm trees are favorite decorations in coastal areas. And now, their popularity has spread to virtually the entire country. Lighted palm trees are great additions to your home, patio, backyard or used as Christmas and holiday decorations. Although you can buy lighted palm trees as stores, it's much easier and cheaper to make a lighted palm tree yourself. Does this Spark an idea?

Purchase an artificial palm tree. These are available at any store that sells home decorating supplies.

Purchase clear string lights. Although these are readily available at Christmas, many garden stores carry them year round.

Begin wrapping the light sting around the top branches of the palm tree. You want to start at the top and work your way down so that the electrical prongs are at the bottom when you finish.

When you reach the end of a palm tree branch, move to another branch.

Once you complete wrapping the branches, begin wrapping the trunk of the palm tree from top to bottom.

Continue adding light strings and wrapping them around the palm tree until you reach the base of the palm tree.

If there is no electrical outlet near where you want to display the lighted palm tree, plug the last string of lights into an extension cord.

Plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet and enjoy your tree.
