How to Use Windows XP Inside of Windows Vista

Get rid of Windows Vista problems and compatibility issues by using Windows XP inside of Windows Vista. It runs in a re-sizable window. No longer will you have to mess with confusing partitions or messy dual boots.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet connection
  • Windows XP install disk
  • Two files to set up the installation
  • VMware Player
  1. Step 1

    The first step is to go ahead and download and gather the necessary materials. There are three that you will need to download and one of them will be your Windows XP install disk. You can find the links to everything in the section below.

  2. Step 2

    Go ahead an install VMWare Player, insert the Windows XP install disk and run VMware Player. Once VMware Player is loaded, click Open and navigate to the .vmdk file you downloaded from below. This should start the setup and install process inside VMware Player. At no time will you have to restart your comptuer. Be sure to have your serial key availible as well for the installation process.

  3. Step 3

    Once it is booted inside Windows XP you can use it just like you would normally use any Windows OS. Everything should be initially set up including internet access and activation. If you want to use a program in Windows XP that doesn't work in Vista, you need to install it from inside the VMWare Player.

Tips & Warnings
  • Press Alt + Ctrl to take control in your current OS.
  • Click or double click inside the VMware Player window to take control of XP
  • Be sure to have your Windows XP install disk ready as well as the serial key.
