This is NOT a typical seven layered taco dip or even a taco salad - its a delicious variation that can be used as an appetizer or even a main dish! After trying it a block party this past summer I was HOOKED!! This is the BEST tasting taco dip I have ever had! Its the first thing I bring to parties!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 lbs ground beef ( Cooled and drained )
  • 8 oz mild cheddar cheese
  • 1 large tomato
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 8 oz mayonnaise
  • 1/2 packet ranch DRESSING, not dip mix, dry - I.E Hidden Valley Ranch
  1. Step 1

Cook and drain ground beef. Let it completely cool down before mixing the beef with the other ingredients.

  2. Step 2

Mix together the mayonnaise and sour cream along with dressing mix.

  3. Step 3

Fold in shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, & cheese

  4. Step 4

Taste the dip - if its not creamy enough add EQUAL amounts of sour cream and mayonnaise. You may want to add a little more of the dressing packet in this case, to taste. I prefer mine a little creamier so I tend to add a tad more.

  5. Step 5

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours

  6. Step 6

Serve with Frito's scoops or tortilla chips

Tips & Warnings
  • ALWAYS ADD EQUAL PARTS OF SOUR CREAM AND MAYONNAISE!!
  • This can easily be made a day ahead of time - just don't add the lettuce until the morning of!
