Prom King and Queen are amongst the top honors in High School. Everyone would like to think they are popular enough to be nominated and elected their Prom King, but sometimes you have to do a little extra to ensure you will win by a landslide. If you are just starting High School and trying to pave the way for your future or if you are in your Senior Year home stretch the advice is still the same. Read on to learn how YOU can be your school's next Prom King:

      Be active in your High School's sports and social activities. You need to get your name out there somehow so find something that you are good at, and excel at it. If you've always been good in sports, join the team and make a lot of friends. You don't have to be the star player to be well liked. If sports are not your thing, choose a different extra-curricular activity that will help you make friends, like Yearbook Staff or Social Committee.

      Talk to everyone. You want to mingle with all types of crowds. The whole school will be voting for you, so you have to make sure you get in good with every group. If you are popular, be nice to the nerdy kids-they will remember you. If you are good academically, offer your support to the people who you see are having trouble. Don't single out, or be mean to any particular group of people.

      Be charming. Get the ladies attention by being charming. Be a ladies man without being a player. Keep your dating track record clean to ensure that you do not lose the female vote when it comes time to vote for Prom King.

      Express interest in becoming Prom King. You will have to get nominated by someone, so be sure people know you are interested. Don't be shy!

      Promote yourself. Select a campaign manager to help you post signs and get your name out there. Come up with a catchy slogan that people will remember.

      Win or lose with dignity. Whether or not you win or lose, be sure to be a good sport. Congratulate the winner or shake hands with the other contenders. Make sure the school knows they picked the right man for the job!
