Small children are often little artists when they get their hands on crayons. And while you may love their art, it's probably less liked when on walls or furniture. For when the next disaster strikes, know how to remove their crayon marks off your walls and furniture. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • WD-40
  • Damp rag
  • Dish-washing detergent
  • 2 dry rags

Instructions

    • 1

      Spray a small, inconspicuous spot on the furniture or wall with WD-40.

      Lightly scrub it with a damp rag. When it dries, if you do not see that it has damaged any paint or varnish, you are ready to remove the crayon off your walls and/or furniture and not worry about damage.

      Spray a dry rag with WD-40 spray.

      Apply the WD-40 to the wall and scrub.

    • 5

      With a rag dampened with water and liquid dish-washing detergent, wash over the place that you scrubbed to remove the WD-40.

      Wipe off all soap residue with a fresh damp rag.

      Pat with a dry rag and allow to air dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • This also works with furniture & various other things. Always do the "WD-40 check" first on an unnoticeable spot.

  • If it does damage your paint in the unnoticeable spot, you have the choice to remove the crayon anyway with this method. At least you can paint over it. With crayon you can't paint over it.
