Your mii is your digital self. Integrate it into your digital life by liberating it from the wii.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • wii
  • dvd recorder
  • recordable dvd
  • computer
  1. Step 1

FEED WII THROUGH DVD RECORDER - Connect the yellow-red-white cable from the back of the wii into the "input" jacks of your dvd recorder.

  2. Step 2

FEED DVD RECORDER TO TV - This is probably already in place. If your dvd isn't connected to a screen, you won't be able to see what you're doing.

  3. Step 3

RECORD DVD WHILE YOU VIEW YOUR MII - With a recordable dvd in place, and using the highest record quality, press record on your dvd player. Navigate your wii to the screen you want to capture--possibly the edit mii screen, or your mii doing something exciting. Stop recording when you're done.

  4. Step 4

MAKE DVD COMPATIBLE - You're going to take this dvd to your computer, so you need to look for a function on your dvd to close the session or make the dvd compatible with other players.

  5. Step 5

ON COMPUTER, SCREEN CAPTURE - Play the dvd on your computer. Press pause at the opportune moment and make a screen capture (alt+prntscrn on Windows copies screen capture to clipboard).

  6. Step 6

EXTRACT MII FROM SCREEN CAPTURE - Using your favorite photo editing software, open the screen capture (edit-paste to dump it from the clipboard) and crop your mii how you want it. Save as jpg for many purposes or other file format to suit.
