Everyone needs to make some quick cash at times. When you stop and look around, there are many opportunities to create income right in front of you. Here are 16 ways to make some quick cash.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Sell unnecessary stuff.

Hold a garage sale. Sell any major drain on your cash flow. For example, a car, boat, or furniture. Sell any collectibles that you might have such as dolls, baseball cards, records, or artwork. Recycle scrap metal or precious metals (gold, silver, etc.).

  2. Step 2

Earn money in your spare time.

Make things to sell. If you're creative or have a hobby, use it to sell your creations.Take on a part-time job, take on odd jobs, or ask to work overtime. Tutor a student.

Side note: If you don't think that you have spare time, evaluate how you spend your time. If you're an average American, just getting away from the TV will give you 4.5 more hours each day!

  3. Step 3

    Play games with yourself.

Refuse to use a certain bill. For example, decide that you will never use a five dollar bill. You may use twenties, tens, or ones, but you cannot use a five. Every five dollar bill you receive is set aside. If you eat out, order water. Set aside the money you saved by ordering a free beverage. Don't buy bottled water. Bottle your own. Pretend that vending machines and drive-thru windows carry a curse!

  4. Step 4

    Make sacrifices.

Brown bag your lunch instead of eating out. Five dollars a day for lunch equals $100 per month. Quit smoking. If you smoke a pack of cigarettes per day, you could save around $100 a month or more. Check your life insurance policy to see if you have cash value you can borrow or withdraw. Many policies do not require that you pay the money back. Check with your insurance agent for details.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use extra money to pay off debts. Many people take a "windfall" and use it to get into deeper debt. For example, a tax refund is used to make a down payment on a new car. Instead of creating another monthly bill with extra cash, use it to pay down on debt.
