How to Get Rid of Annoying Attic Squirrels

You see the cute little squirrels running around the yard. Often, you might feed them with nuts and cracked corn. The problem arises when these little cute squirrels decide to move into your home. They sneak into your attic and end up doing a great deal of damage. How do you get rid of squirrels in the attic? Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Find the entry point. Using a ladder, go up on the roof, checking for holes and look around the eaves for openings.

    • 2

Purchase a one-way trap. Each trap holds up to six squirrels, but you should have a trap for each entry point that you find. As soon as a squirrel enters the trap, a latch is sprung, trapping the squirrel.

    • 3

Take the trap, with the squirrel inside, to a place far from your home and release it.

    • 4

Put the trap back in place, at the entry point. Keep using the trap for five days, after the last squirrel is caught.

    • 5

Squirrels have babies from February through March and August through September. Make sure there are no babies left in the attic.

    • 6

Seal the entry point, using caulking or screen with wire mesh. Check any wiring in the attic for damage from chewing. The wiring should be repaired and/or replaced.
