Things You'll Need:
- A Measuring Tape
-
Step 1
Determine Band Size
To determine band size, measure around your body directly under your arms and above your bust. It often works best if a helper holds the tape and measures in the back and you hold the tape in the front. Try to keep the measuring tape level and make sure the tape is not twisted. If this measurement results in an odd number or a fraction of a number, round up to the next even number. -
Step 2
Determine Cup Size
To determine cup size, measure around your bust at the fullest part. Take this number and subtract your band size. The difference in inches determines cup size. If the difference is one inch, your size is A, and every inch after is the next size. So 1”=A, 2”=B, 3”=C, 4”=D, 5”=DD and so on. Again if the difference results in a fraction of a number, round up. -
Step 3
Try before you buy
At the department store, try on different styles and sizes close to the size you determined. This measurement will not be accurate for every brand. The perfect fit will fit on the middle hooks and you should be able to easily fit two fingers under the band in all places. Also, make sure you sit down with the bra on. The bra should be comfortable both when standing and sitting.
