Step 2
Do not bust, puncture or pop your acne. Doing so can lead to scars and further irritation and repeat acne outbreaks.
-
Step 3
Use a spot treatment after washing your face. You can go to the drugstore and select from a variety of different acne spot treatment gels and creams that work to expedite the clear-up. Make sure you only apply these creams when your skin is clean for best results.

Step 4
Ladies, keep your makeup application brushes, sponges and wedges clean. Replace them often or wash them with warm soap and water so you can eliminate germs that cause your break-outs.

Step 5
Men and women alike: it is important to keep your hair and pillow cases clean. Hair that is oily transfers to your pillow cases and can cause acne flare-ups. Shampoo and conditioner your hair regularly to avoid oil build-up that can cause issues for your face.
