Looking to get a high quality salon cut without the hefty expense? The Bumble and Bumble University Model Project offers free haircuts from qualified stylists.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to http://bbumodelproject.com/ and click "Sign Up"

  2. Step 2

    On the next page, click "Pre-Evaluation Form" to sign up for an invitation to a model call.

  3. Step 3

    Fill out your information and wait for an e-mail from Bumble & Bumble.

  4. Step 4

    When Bumble & Bumble is doing a model call they will e-mail you and notify the time you can go to their location to have your hair evaluated.

  5. Step 5

    Attend the model call & you will be signed up for a free hair cut at their next class that suits your hair. You may also have your hair evaluated for a free color at one of their color classes as well.

  6. Step 6

    You will receive an e-mail to confirm your cut two weeks before your appointment (unless your model call was less than two weeks before your appointment). Confirm your appointment by replying to the e-mail.

  7. Step 7

    Attend your appointment for your haircut & receive a fabulous and free cut from experienced stylists!

Tips & Warnings
  • Both men and women are eligible for free cuts from Bumble & Bumble.
  • All stylists performing the free cuts have worked in a salon for at least two years.
  • Free coloring and free styling available through the Bumble & Bumble University Modeling project as well.
  • Bumble & Bumble is a renowned salon in New York City that offers classes in particular cuts and styles to established stylists. The Modeling Project is for hair models for the stylists to practice their new techniques on.
  • All cuts are supervised by an educator who will fix any problems before you leave.
  • They frequently include free products, etc... during your visits.
  • Can be a long wait to get your cut and you have little control over what time your appointment is--appointments are for whenever the classes are being held.
  • Cuts can take a long time as stylists must get the educators approval & oversee before moving on to a next step.
  • They typically only offer haircuts that fit with whatever type of cut or technique the particular class is teaching.
