Go to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's website, linked in the Reference section. This will give you access to flood adjuster training information. Flood adjuster training is usually conducted in a series of workshops around the country every spring. All flood insurance adjusters are required to attend these workshops yearly to qualify for a license.

Once classes are complete, download the application from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's website. There are several questions requiring responses, such as personal information, the number of years of adjustment experience and whether you have attended company-sponsored training. For question two, if you do not have a flood certification number, you do not need to fill this in; question eight must be answered "yes," and you must have attended the courses. Finally, for question 10, if you don't know the answer to "Present Errors and Ommissions Carrier," ask the adjusting firm you work for.

Tips & Warnings
If you have 0.5 years of experience, round up to the next number. No matter what training you may have, you must have four years of experience as an insurance adjuster to receive a flood adjuster license.
If you get denied for not enough experience, don't reapply the same year by increasing the number to four years. The Federal Emergency Management Agency will compare it against your previous application and deny you.
