Things You'll Need:
- Sea Shells (Large and Small)
- Sand
- Candles
- Ribbon
- 3 Vases
- Glad Press and Seal
-
Step 1
FIND vases or wine decanters that you no longer use or that you just have laying around. You can purchase these items at discount stores as well. Make sure that you have vases that are tall, uniquely designed, and clear. If they don't match, they will still look great.
-
Step 2
LOOK for seashells and sand. You may have a collection of seashells that are just laying around your house. If this is the case, then you can finally use them. If you don't have seashells, you can purchase them almost anywhere. Little sea shells will fill your vase very nicely.
-
Step 3
PURCHASE big candles that will fit on the bottom of your vases. White candles go great with beach colors, but any color candle choice will work great for your beach centerpiece. Once you have your candles you may want to spruce them up by adding a thick piece of ribbon around them, gluing sea shells or starfish to them, or even tying a bow around them.
-
Step 4
START filling your vases. You can elect to fill the vases with sand and seashells, just sand, or just sea shells. You might have to play around with how you want your vases filled. Once they are completely full you can move onto the next step.
-
Step 5
USE Glad Press and Seal and place this on the top of the vase. Make sure that it is completely pressed around the top of the vase and cut off the excess. Now when you turn your vase upside down everything will not fall out, nothing will shift, and your sea shells will stay in place.
-
Step 6
PLACE your candles on top of your vases. You can place your vases on a mirror, an old platter, or you can make your own stand for them. If you have an old box, cut it down until it is an inch tall and fill it with sand. Then you can place your vases in the sand with sea shells scattered around them.
