How to Teach Employees about OSHA Regulations
One of the most important factors in making your business or workplace OSHA compliant is having informed employees. Most managers and supervisors are aware of OSHA regulations, but employees do not always know the details. It is important to incorporate workplace safety training into your employees' work schedules and educate them about OSHA compliance.

1
Visit the website of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. There is a list of resources, including free training videos that you can download. You can also find a summary of the OSH Act, as well as resources for Spanish-speaking employees.
-
2
Research any additional health and safety standards set by your state. You can find these supplements to OSHA by visiting the website of your state's department of labor.
-
-
3
Assemble a packet of written and video materials about OSHA compliance and distribute them to your employees. For example, you can create a spiral bound handbook of written material and a CD of safety training videos.
-
4
Hold a small OSHA compliance seminar to go over the regulations. If you have a large workforce, your workers can read the materials outside of work.
-
5
To ensure that your employees read your safety manuals and watch the videos, make them take a test. It can be a take-home exam, online quiz or proctored test at work. Pay them for study time, and give them a bonus commensurate with their score on the test.
-
6
Keep your employees informed about updates and scheduled inspections. Safety compliance training should be ongoing, so periodically re-train and re-test your workers.
