Creating a schedule for your baby is so important. Having in place a consistent schedule allows your baby to know what to expect next. This makes for a secure and happy baby. Here are some tips on creating a schedule.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • intuition
  • organizational skills
  • time management skills
  1. Step 1

Usually around 6 months your baby will be ready for a schedule.

  2. Step 2

Be intuitive. Be aware of when your child is sleepy and hungry. This will help set up your napping and feeding schedule.

  3. Step 3

At 6 months start setting up your feeding schedule for when they get older. Get them used to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try to give them 2 snacks during the day. A baby needs to eat every 2-3 hours.

  4. Step 4

Set nap time up the EXACT same time every day. Whichever method you use to get them to sleep (rock them, bottle or cry it out), just make sure you are consistent with the time. This goes for bedtime too!

  5. Step 5

Consistency is key. You have to do the same thing every day. Watch the clock, and you will see that every day they will eat and nap at the same time. This, too, will help you plan your days. Once they start getting a little older you can push your times here and there, but until then stay consistent.
