How to choose a leaf blower when there are so may to choose from seems at first a daunting task.

There are three types a back pack blower which fits over your back. This is a good idea for the large area, a lot of leafs and great for the less than young gardeners. It is light weight, leaves your hands free and it packs power. This type has more horse power than the other models and it offers less strain than any other type of leaf blower. it is the easier one to use and for that reason is often more expensive. In terms of a user friendly leaf blower this is it, but it may not be necessary for you to pay so much if you only want to clean out the garage.

The hand held gas model uses a lot of hand action and does not leave you as free as the backpack leaf blower. The hand action comes into play with this type of leaf blower. However it is better for smaller more compact areas such has patios, driveways and cleaning up the garage. One of its main advantage is the fact that it does not have an electrical cord trailing as you work.

The third type of leaf blower is an electric hand held leaf blower. Its advantage is the fact that it is compact and can be better for small areas. Especially good for the garage, or driveways or a small patio. It is not great for large areas because you have to carry it and it can be very tiring to use.

Some leaf blowers can weigh as much as twenty five pounds so before you purchase your leaf blower imagine yourself carrying it. If you have a large area of yard or woodland then despite the increased cost of a backpack leaf blower it will pay for itself many times over in terms of user friendly.

One final point the gas models are noisier than the electric models so if you are using a leaf blower in a heavily built up residential area your neighbor may thank you for using an electric one.
