A computer with wireless capabilities can connect to a wireless network from anywhere.

Microsoft's Windows Vista includes a built-in feature to help you find wireless networks that you can access from your wireless computer. These wireless networks are only available if your computer is equipped with wireless capabilities or has a wireless adapter installed. Once you find a wireless network, you can connect to it, provided it is public or you know the pass code if it is secure.
