I am going to show you how to levitate with no props and no camera tricks. I'm sure some of you have seen street "magicians" do this but didn't know how. I still do this from time to time and people go into initial shock when they first see it even though they know it's not real.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Ask your target (audience) if he has ever seen David Blaine levitate.

  2. Step 2

It doesn't matter what his answer is. Respond that you also know how to levitate.

  3. Step 3

While the target is still laughing at you, make a serious expression and stand about ten feet from him, facing away.

  4. Step 4
This is how it would look if you want to use your right leg as your strong leg.

This is how it would look if you want to use your right leg as your strong leg.

Turn to approximately a 45 degree angle. If your strong leg is your right leg, then you want both your feet to point 10:30; if left leg is stronger, then point to 2:30.

  5. Step 5

Keep your feet together and slowly raise your arms to your sides so it looks like you are making a human letter T. Why? First it gives the appearance that you are concentrating and preparing yourself to balance in the air. Secondly, you might actually need your arms to balance!

  6. Step 6

    Take a deep breath.

  7. Step 7

Using only your strong leg, raise yourself up on your tippy-toes. Your entire other foot should be in the air while your strong leg's heel is in the air. Your body should still be in the T position.

  8. Step 8

Stay in the air for a few seconds and then slowly let your feet back down on the floor.

Tips & Warnings
  • You need to be wearing shoes, preferably not sandals, to hide your toes on your strong leg.
  • Keep your heels together the entire time.
  • Only try this in front of single person or a small group physically close together. A single target is ideal since you can control the angle perfectly.
  • Kids, especially, will love this trick.
  • Do not do the trick more than once to the same target. Once your element of surprise is gone, he will only be looking for how you did it.
