Put on the dust mask. If you are using the bandanna or cloth wet them first then secure over your nose and mouth.

Using a bag of lime, the kind you mix with sand & mortar to make cement, sprinkle liberally over your basement floor. Make sure you get in all the corners and along the joint where wall & floor meet. As much as you can throw some under and around the heater, hot water tank and anything else you might have on the floor, like storage boxes.

How it works.
Fleas do not have lungs, they breathe through their skin. The lime coats them and they can't breathe, hence they suffocate. -

Allow about a week before you sweep the lime up. This allows for any eggs to have hatched and the lime to kill the young. Don't forget to put on the dust mask. If you are using the bandanna or cloth wet them first then secure over your nose and mouth.
