Step 1
The letters "SEO" stand for Search Engine Optimization, which is an important part of writing online. If you write articles online (as with Ehow) you can increase your exposure and earn double the amount you are earning now, by learning SEO writing techniques.
-
Step 2
Simply defined, SEO is a strategic placement of keywords and phrases within your text that relate to your subject matter. For example, if you are writing an article about "How to write a sympathy letter", you would want to place that specific phrase within your text SEVERAL times. The words "how to" really don't need to be a part of your SEO writing techniques, but if you want those words there, by all means use them.
Basically, what you are trying to do when using SEO writing techniques is to think of how YOU would look for a specific topic, and then form your keywords and phrases around that information. For example, if you wanted to know "How to write a sympathy letter", you would likely type those specific words into a search engine, right? What other keywords and phrases do you think you may use? Maybe, "How to write a condolence letter", OR perhaps, "How to deal with a friend's death". Try to work those specific phrases and words into your online article. -
Step 3
Learning to use Search Engine Optimization within your text is SO IMPORTANT for anyone that writes articles online. If you can get a thorough understanding of SEO writing techniques, you will see an impressive increase in the page hits you receive, which will in turn, help you earn more money.
-
Step 4
The standard rule for SEO writing techniques is to have a keyword density of 3% - 5%. Thus, if you are writing a 400 word article, you would want to try to get your keywords and phrases into your text approximately 12 - 15 times. It will take some practice to get your work to sound natural when using SEO writing techniques, but you CAN DO IT. All successful online writers use SEO writing techniques; it's how they earn their money.

on 11/11/2009 Yea, you hit the nail on the head. Don't try to be one of those idiots who incorporate "hidden text" just to increase seo. The fact that other people are interested will boost your SEO as much if not more. A good example is how this used car directory implies the principles.
