It can also be taken as an herbal tincture at 2-3 ml of tincture 3 times each day. Herbal capsules can also be taken at 600 mg 3 times each day.

    St John's Wort Capsules as Natural Herbal Remedies

    St John's Wort is the most commonly used herb for the treatment of depression. In Germany, St. John's Wort is approved for the treatment of depression and regularly prescribed by doctors for this ailment. St John's Wort is normally taken in the form of tea, capsule or tincture. St John's Wort should be taken at least twice a day for maximum benefit.

    Lavender Oil as a Natural Herbal Remedy

    Lavender is typically used in the form of essential oil. A deep breath of the oil provides and quick pick me up. It can be used in potpourris and homemade air freshener to uplift the spirit on a daily basis. In addition to using lavender as an essential oil, the flower can also be used to prepare herbal teas and herbal tinctures for taking orally.

    Valerian Tea as a Natural Herbal Remedy

    Valerian is a commonly used herb to treat depression. Those interested in trying Valerian should be aware that it is an herbal sedative. Valerian is well-known for inducing sleep. If you have a depression that is causing you to be tired and sleeping more often than normal, you may wish to choose another herb for treating your depression. Valerian is one of two herbs recommended by the National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine for treating depression.

    Bergamot in the form of essential oil is commonly used for the treatment of depression. Place the bergamot oil in a diffuser and use during times of stress or frustration or when depression symptoms seem to be at their worst.
