First things first, clear your mind. The TV, magazine ads, doctors, and more all want you to think acne is a medical condition that needs drugs to be cured. This is absolutely not true. And speaking of clearing your mind, stress can make acne worse, so be happy and try not to stress too much.

Do not use medicated acne medications. This includes salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or any other chemical creams, soaps, etc.. as these are BAD for your skin. While they may work for some people, it is only because it has dried the skin out so much that the acne goes away. This is not what you want. Instead of using these items, purchase some dead sea mineral mud and some sulfur cream, make sure it is all natural. Mineral mud from the dead sea is packed full of minerals that literally feed your skin and help it stay healthy. It also keep dead skin cells off your skin, revealing new healthy skin. You can use this once a day at first, and graduate to twice per day when your skin can handle it (your skin isn't used to the minerals and salt in the mud). Sulfur is a very important part of your skin regeneration, cell repair and more. This will get rid of an existing pimple overnight, guaranteed! Again, make sure the sulfur cream is all natural and the higher the sulfur content (10% is high) the better.

Avoid caffeine. No matter what your hear or read, stopping the use of caffeine will help clear your face. I lived on Mountain Dew and didn't want to hear none of this before, until my brother, who is a Marine, called me after his training in the desert. He is going overseas in October, and his training involved him staying in the desert for 3 weeks, which meant no showers. He had bad acne like me, but while in the desert it cleared up. He had no caffeine while there. I became a believer and stopped buying Mountain Dew. A VERY hard decision, but it has worked, along with all the other tips here.
Also, greasy foods are a no no. While the food itself won't cause acne, if you already have it, it will make it worse. This is because you get the grease on your fingers and inadvertently transfer it to your face.

When in the shower, wash your face last, very last. The reason for this is especially important if you use conditioner in your hair. When you rinse the conditioner out of your hair, it runs down your face, cuasing greasiness and clogged pores.
Purchase a microfiber (dermal grade) face cloth. NOT from the Dollar Store! These remove the top layer of skin, use it every 10 days or so to keep your skin healthy and vibrant.
Also, keep all clothing and fabrics that come in contact with your skin clean and germ free. This includes shirts, pillowcases, blankets, etc.. Wash them often and you can also now use Lysol on fabrics, a very good idea and it helps a lot!
