Using vinegar is a natural, non-toxic way to clean the interior of your dishwasher. Easily remove built up residue, grime and soap scum from your dishwasher with this natural cleaning method.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Purchase regular, white vinegar at the grocery store. Basic vinegar is extremely inexpensive compared to commercial cleaning products. A gallon of white vinegar should be less than two dollars.

  2. Step 2

Empty your dishwasher of all dishes and utensils.

  3. Step 3

Pour one cup of white vinegar into your dishwasher to naturally clean the interior and remove soap residue and build up. The vinegar can simply be thrown into the dishwasher and does not need to be poured into the soap tray.

  4. Step 4

Run you dishwasher through a full cycle with the vinegar inside. This process should also decrease the amount of soap residue build up on your dishes because there will be less soap residue on the interior of your dishwasher.

  5. Step 5

Repeat this process once each month to naturally clean soap scum and keep your dishwasher interior fresh and clean.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never mix vinegar and bleach. It is a toxic combination.
