Step 1
Keep a smoking sweater and wear it whenever you smoke or someone else smokes around you. The smell of the cigarette smoke will cling primarily to the sweater and not to the clothes that you plan on wearing for the rest of the day.
-
Step 2
Smoke outside or ask others to smoke outside. The smell of cigarette smoke dissipates quickly outdoors. If you smoke inside, however, and it is a frequent habit, the smell will permanently reside in your house and everything in it will smell mildly of cigarette smoke.
-
Step 3
Rub dryer sheets over your clothes and hair. Dryer sheets are great for getting rid of static electricity, but they are also great at absorbing the smell of cigarette smoke in a pinch.
-
Step 4
Forbid smoking to take place in your car. Just like inside your house, your car will absorb smells and those smells will permeate your clothing every time you ride in the car.
-
Step 5
Carry chewing gum. Chewing gum works far better to dispose of the smell of cigarette smoke on a person's breath than mints do because of the chewing action. Make sure the gum you choose is chewing gum and not bubble gum, which isn't as good at hiding the smell.
