How to make canned deer meat

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • beef bouillon
  • canning jars and lids
  • deer meat
  1. Step 1

First you will need to take your deer meat and rinse very well. Then place the deer meat into sterilized jars three fourths of the way full. Then you will need a pot on the stove top. Where you will add the beef bouillon cubes to water and bring to a boil.

  2. Step 2

Then you will pour the hot beef bouillon broth into the jars. If you do not have wide mouth jars you can use a funnel to get the beef broth into the cans. You will need to fill until you are a quarter of an inch from the top of the jar. Then wipe the top of the jar off so that it has a clean surface to place the seal and the ring. Then tighten until you have it snug do not over tighten.

  3. Step 3

As you heat the jars they will need room to expand. You then will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees. You will need a deep can that you fill to cover the jars half way. You will place the jars in the pan and place in the oven for one hour. The let the jars cool and make sure the tops of the jars do not compress. If they do repeat process for another 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Then store the deer meat for two months. Then you are ready to use it by making it in a gravy mix.
