Things You'll Need:
- acetone nail polish remover
- plastic sheeting
- petroleum jelly
- nail buffer
- skin moisturizing lotion
-
Step 1
First you will need to lay the plastic sheeting on the area that you are using to remove the nails. This is to prevent the area from being damaged. Next you will need to find a container large enough to fit your hand into that can be disposed of when you are finished using it.
-
Step 2
Next you will need to place enough of the acetone nail polish remover in the container to cover the nail area of the hand. Before you put your fingers into the nail polish remover you will need to rub the area around the nail which would be the sides of your finger and your cuticles with petroleum jelly. This will prevent them from being damaged.
-
Step 3
Then you will place your nails into the acetone nail polish remover for ten minutes and allow them to soak. Then you will try to remove the acrylic nail. If it will not come off easily soak for another five minutes and try again. Once you get all of the nails removed rub wash your hands very well then apply moisturizing lotion on the hand.
-
Step 4
Once you applied lotion to your hands then you will need to use the nail buffer to smooth out your own natural nails. Do not press to hard you do not want to damage the nail anymore. You will need to apply moisturizing lotion to your hands several times over the next couple days. The acetone has a tendency to dry out the skin.
