I always have used craft twine or thin rope when making bridles for toy horses. It looks so natural. More like a hackamore I suppose... This article will take you through the creation of such a bridle step by step.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Craft twine or thin rope
  • Scissors
  • You may need a pliers or tweezers if your fingers are large :-)
  1. Step 1

Take the craft twine and tie it to make a small loop.

  2. Step 2

Now take each end and thread it around the loop again.

  3. Step 3

Put the loop around the horse's nose with the thick side under.

  4. Step 4

Take the rope on the right side of the horse and put it over his head.

  5. Step 5

Wrap the rope you took over the head around the other rope near the horse's throat latch.

  6. Step 6

Take that same rope that you brought over the head and thread it back through itself on the other side of the head. Again, the junction of the ropes should be near the throat latch.

  7. Step 7

Bring both ropes back to the withers and tie in a knot.

  8. Step 8

Your bridle/hackamore is now complete! Stand back and admire it.
