Things You'll Need:
- Wax
- Wick
- Candle mould
- Fire proof charms or objects.
- Wax melting pot.
-
Step 1
Find the objects to form your message.
Craft stores sell inexpensive metal jewelry findings in the shape of letters or words. You can also find small charms or objects which can be used to convey words. For example you might want to say, "I love you". To do this you would need an eye charm, a heart shaped object, and a letter U. If you want to keep costs down, you can form letters and words with small pieces of wire. -
Step 2
Tie a weight to one end of the candle wick. Wrap the other end around a stick and balance this across the top of the candle mould.
-
Step 3
Melt your wax. Don't melt wax over a direct flame. Use a double boiler.
-
Step 4
Pour a layer of wax into the bottom of the mould.
-
Step 5
Drop the object representing the last word of your message into the wax. You may want to press it in slightly to hold it near the center.
-
Step 6
Pour another layer of candle wax over the message object.
-
Step 7
Add the second to the last object in the message.
-
Step 8
Continue adding layers of wax and objects until you've embedded the whole message in the candle.
-
Step 9
When giving the candle, tell the person the message is for that they need to burn the candle right away, and to watch for the message. You don't want the message to remain hidden for years.
