Things You'll Need:
- 2 White Poster Boards
- A Plastic Coated Clothes Hanger
- Poster Markers
- Adhesive Backed Velcro Strips
-
Step 1
First step is to decide on a character, animal, flower or whatever your child wants to be for Halloween. I found a picture on the computer and enlarged it onto my poster board using a #2 pencil. This is where the creative part takes place, draw your outline first, then add the features. Use a pencil because if you are like me, there will be alot of erasing involved. Also, remember that you will need a front and a back.
-
Step 2
After you finish drawing your front and back, color in the entire costume with the poster markers. Next you will need to use a wide tip black marker and outline the outer edges and all the features, such as eyes, mouth, etc. Look at my pictures to get an idea of how to outline and color. Again, don't forget to do a front and a back. Cut costume around edge where you outlined, leaving some black marker showing.

Step 3
Hold the front of the costume up against your child to get the correct placement for the hanger halo to be attached, this will need to sit on top of the childs head. Using a pen, mark on the inside of the board where it needs to be placed. Take your hanger apart and shape it into a round halo, hot glue this in place on the inside, see picture. You will need to hold the hanger while glue sets to keep it in place.

Step 4
Now you are ready to put the costume on your child, once you have it on, locate the area where the eye holes need to be. Remove the costume and cut out the eye holes. Place one piece of the adhesive back velcro on the inside of the poster board front, match up with the shirt the child will be wearing and place the other piece to the shirt. Repeat this process in the back also. Your costume is complete, be sure to dress color coordinating underneath. Have fun and Happy Halloween!
