How to make tomato juice with a colander.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • bowl, tomatoes, small knife, colander and drinking glass.
  1. Step 1

Fresh tomatoes from the garden or store can be made into a nutritious juice in a short time.
Gather the tomatoes in a bowl and wash them carefully, remove any spoiled spots or mold. Cut out the stem and cut tomatoes into small pieces.

  2. Step 2

Place the colander on the top edge of the bowl and fill with tomatoes just above the blade. Swish the blade back and forth until the juice is squeezed into the bowl. This will take some time, get the peeling under the blade and lift and push down with a little pressure. Throw the used peelings away and drop in the next few tomatoes.

  3. Step 3

The juice in the bowl is ready to be poured into glasses and chilled. There a number of flavors you can add to the juice for instance; salt, sugar, soy sauce, peppers, lemon or beer can be added for taste.

  4. Step 4

The juice can easily be added to casseroles with meat, noodles and vegetables to make a complete and satisfying meal. Tomato juice mixed with milk, salt and pepper makes a great soup.
