Fold an Origami Penguin
Fold an Origami Penguin

Origami is a method of paper craft that require only a piece of paper and a pair of hands. Scissors, tape, and glue are forbidden!. Of all the origami patterns for folding birds, penguins are among the easiest to fold. If you are a beginner at origami, or want to make your own army of marching penguins, the steps below will show you step by step how to fold an origami penguin.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start with a square sheet of thin paper that is white on one side, and colored on the other

  2. Step 2

Crease the paper in half diagonally so that the whit side is exposed. Then, unfold the paper and lay it flat in front of you, white side up. Fold the sides down toward the crease, but leave a small gap where the white is exposed between the flaps. See image.

  3. Step 3

Next, fold the top of the paper to form the head and beak of the origami penguin. Fold a small portion at the top away from you, then a little further down fold it toward you. This forms the beak. Then, fold it toward you again, and this forms the head. See image.

  4. Step 4

Now fold the entire piece in half so the head is on the outside.

  5. Step 5

Pull the head out, and fold the bottom of the figure back inside to make the base. And you your origami penguin is complete.
