2. Apply for grants to get your film made through The Women in Film Foundation, the Women's Film Preservation Fund and the Women in Film & Television.

3. Check your local film festivals and women's film groups for grant opportunities. For instance, Seattle, Los Angeles and New York all have organizations and foundations for female filmmakers. Oftentimes, these nonprofits are given grant money to distribute, or get the news first about what grants are available for females in film.
