If you have a set date for going into military i highly suggest a little pre boot camp fitness to make boot camp a little less harsh.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • athletic shoes
  • push up helper if you want
  • stop watch
  • motivation
  1. Step 1

Start doing push ups once an hour everyday until boot camp. Start with 5-10 push ups or whatever you feel comfortable doing, if your awake for 13 hours a day, that's alot of practice and getting your muscles use to doing these exercise activities. Eventually you will be doing 20 to 30 push ups and by the time you get to boot camp hopefully you will be doing 30-50 push ups. I joined the air force and was required to do 45 push ups. I was able to achieve that easily by doing this. Last thing you want is to be the person that can only do 1-7 push ups and needing to really push yourself to get to where you need to be to graduate basic.

  2. Step 2

Start running, running running. Military usually tests your 1 mile and a half time. Pace out on a track 1 mile and a half in your neighborhood or treadmill or track and everyday run the track. Record your times and then try to beat your time from last time even if its just by a few seconds. If you can shave off a few seconds everyday getting to a 9 minute mile and half is doable! If you can run a 9 or 10 minute mile and a half you will be set for boot camp, even 11,12 or 13 minute mile and half isn't bad and being able to do that before you get into the military will prevent alot of stress and will be able to whip around the track with no problem.

  3. Step 3

Sit ups are huge in military and are the hardest part for most people. I'm just going to say do what you can do and practice them and aim for 30-50 sit ups range and you should be good once you get in the military.

  4. Step 4

Start eating less saturated fats, and maintain your calorie intake, i would say a week before completely eliminate junk food and start eating foods that give you energy. I would also suggest starting to wake up early and getting your body use to that time frame. We would wake up before sun was up id say around 4 or 5 am.
