This deign proceeds like an applique design except that instead of stitching to a background fabric, you are stitching it to water soluble stabilizer.

Hoop adhesive backed water soluble stabilizer or spray it with embroidery adhesive.

Color chart is included with the design.

Place the hoop on the machine and start it.
The first part that stitches is the placement line.

Remove the hoop from the machine without disturbing the stabilizer.

Place the corner of your linen up against the placement line making sure the edges are exact. The tip of the corner may not fit exact and that is fine.

Press it down firmly and carefully place the hoop back on the machine.

Double check the corner to be sure everything is still lined up correctly and start the machine.

The machine will baste the corner to hold the napkin until the stitching is finished.
It will continue with the same color to stitch the scallops and tacking stitches.

When the scallop outlines and stitched, remove the hoop carefully. With curved and very sharp scissors, cut the excess fabric around the edges closest to the corner.

Clean away any loose threads or ones poking out of the edges of the scallops.
Place the hoop on the machine and proceed with the color changes.

When the acorn are done stitching, slide a piece of tear away stabilizer under the hoop and proceed with the rest of the color changes until the design is finished.

Remove the hoop from the machine and remove excess stabilizer. Wash thoroughly and press from the wrong side while still damp.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
