Step 1
Go where the deer are. It takes approximately the same amount of time scouting or preparation for attracting deer as hunting to achieve any level of success.
-
Step 2
Be there when the deer are moving. Moon phases are a vital part of successful deer hunting. The greater number of deer are usually seen at the new moon phase. At the third quarter phase of the moon, PM hunts are best.
-
Step 3
Hunt down wind. Enormous amounts of money are spent for scent masking or elimination products. If all these type products work, you would have to hold your breath the entire hunt to be scent free. If you are breathing and up wind the deer can smell you and have the advantage. Save your money and hunt down wind.

Step 4
Make your shot count. If you hunt long enough, there will come a time when the above 3 steps are in place and the bullet misses or wounds the deer. The rest is history that can't be captured in a photograph or find its way to the table. (John 3:16)
