How to Clean a Stain From White Socks Without Bleach

Washing laundry is a household chore that only gets more frustrating when you find a pile of stained clothes that need extra attention. If you don't want to use chlorine bleach and hot water, it can be tough to get stains out of white socks. To keep your whites bright, always wash them separately from colors and pretreat the stains.

Things You'll Need

• Laundry pretreatment
• Oxygen bleach product
• Laundry detergent

Instructions

1. Turn the socks right-side out before treating the stain and laundering.

2. Spot-treat grass stains, mud and other marks with a quick shot of a stain-removing spray, gel or stick.

3. Add a scoop of an oxygen-bleach laundry booster as the washing machine starts to fill with warm water, before adding your regular laundry detergent. Drop the socks in as soon as you see suds and swish them around before adding the rest of your laundry. If you have a front-loading machine, add the laundry booster to the bleach dispenser.
