Things You'll Need:

- Desire to build search engine traffic
- SEO knowledge helpful

Step 1
The first step in building organic search engine traffic is to create content for your website. As you will see often as you read online about search engine optimization and the like, "content is king".
You can go about creating content in a number of ways. The most obvious way is to create original content yourself by writing it. However, if you do not have the time to do so, you can hire writers to do this for you.
You want to ensure that your content is not spammy, but your keyword should be used 3-5% of the time generally speaking.
Avoid duplicate articles/content as Google is great at detecting this and will write off your site as garbage if it detects this. -
Step 2
Next, now that you have content you need to make your presence on the internet known. This crucial step in building organic search engine traffic is known as internet marketing and there are a number of ways to go about it.
As I stated above there are volumes and volume of information on this topic throughout the web, but here's a general list of places to get started:
Article directories: ezinearticles, buzzle, searchwarp,eHow, infobarrel etc.
Social websites: myspace, facebook, squidoo, etc.
Website directories: blogcatalog, blogged
If you want to quickly get your site/blog indexed by Google, ezinearticles is a great way to do so because Google loves that site. Similarly, Google also has a large affinity for eHow. -
Step 3
The next step is a continuation of Step 2 and that is to continue to build backlinks to your site. Backlinks are basically links on other websites that direct back to your site. As you gain backlinks, your site rises in authority and thus rises in the search engine results.
A few higher quality backlinks are more beneficial than hundreds of garbage links (i.e. link farms). -
Step 4
Finally, just continue to repeat the above process of creating content and marketing it. It will take time and requires a great deal of patience.
