Cheat Engine is a software program that allows computer users to make changes in their PC games. For instance, in your game if you are short on money or time, Cheat Engine can increase them in the game.

Download a free copy of Cheat Engine from the official website cheatengine.org, and install the copy onto your computer.

Open the computer game you want to edit, then open the Cheat Engine program.

Select "Windowed" view in the "Options" menu of the PC game. If the "Windowed" view is not available, use the "Windows" key, which is next to the "CTRL" button.

Choose the game you want to crack by clicking the image of a computer at the top left of the Cheat Engine screen. A list of open programs appears. Scroll through the list until you see the video game. Click .exe file and select "Open."

Look at your PC game to find the numbers you want to change. Enter that exact number in the "Value" bar. Do not make any other changes, or you may get an error.

Select "First Scan" and wait as the Cheat Engine program runs through the files. A list appears on the left side of the screen. To find the right code, shorten the list.

Play the PC game until the numbers change. For example, if you want to add more money to your game, input the initial balance into Cheat Engine and play the game to increase your money balance.

Input the new numbers into the "Value" bar and click "Next Scan." Double-click on the remaining numbers on the left and they will move to the bottom of Cheat Engine. Scroll to the bottom of Cheat Engine and double-click on the number under "Value."

Change the number. For example, if your money balance has $50, you can input 10000 for ten thousand dollars, or a million dollars, depending on the game's maximum amount.

Close the Cheat Engine program and play your PC game. Cheat Engine can be left open in case you want to add more money or time later.

Tips & Warnings
When you move the numbers to the bottom of Cheat Engine, change the value to all remaining numbers if the first one does not make changes in the PC game.
Do not make changes to any values or drop-down boxes if you do not understand how to use Cheat Engine. It will cause your game to crash.
