How to Make Flower Hair Pins
Flower hair pins are an easy and inexpensive way to add style to your hair. Use floral hair clips to secure long hair out of your face or to add a feminine touch to short styles. Make dainty flower clips for children or big and bold clips for a night on the town. A visit to a craft store supplies you with all you need to make attractive, seasonal appropriate hair accessories.

Instructions

1
Choose your flowers. Pick from fabric, silk or ribbon flowers at your local craft shop. Choose one large flower or two or three small ones per clip.
-
2
Remove the petals from the flower stem. Then pull the stem from the center part of the flower to separate the center from the flower petals. Pull out the center part completely, leaving the layers of petals stacked.

3
Cut apart your greenery if you're using it. Remove the individual leaves and use scissors to cut them to the desired size.
-
4
Apply hot glue to the hair pin and attach the leaves. Arrange them so they will peek out from behind the flower when you add it.
-
5
Apply hot glue to the clip---on top of the leaves if applicable---where you want to place your flower. Press the stack of petals into the glue. Add additional glue between the petal layers if necessary. Repeat for each flower you are placing on the clip.
-
6
Trim the plastic connector tube off the flower center with your scissors. Make the back of the center flat.
-
7
Apply hot glue to the center of the petals and attach the flower center. Allow glue to dry completely for five minutes before wearing.

Tips & Warnings
Glue large faceted beads or rhinestones to the center of the petals instead of the flower center.
