Should I follow this guy? That is a big question in the Twitter universe.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Twitter account
  1. Step 1

When somebody starts following you, you will receive an email message telling you really important information that you need to carefully read.

  2. Step 2

The email message you will receive from Twitter will tell you how many followers your new potential friend have, how many people he/she is following, and how many update he/she had made.

  3. Step 3

Pay special attention to the Following/Followers ratio. If the guy is following more people than people who are following him, then there are great probabilities that he/she won't be worth to follow.

  4. Step 4

If the Following number is greater (far greater) than the Followers number, then you can be pretty sure he/she is spam.

  5. Step 5

If the Followers numbers is greater than the Following number, that means that person is maybe a good candidate to follow. Open his/her account and take a look to his/her latest updates.

  6. Step 6

Always pay special attention to his/hep biography. That way you can determine if that person can give you valuable information.

  7. Step 7

Don't follow people because they follow you. Don't play games. Only follow those that can give you real value with their tweets.

  8. Step 8

Try to keep a 1:1 ratio in your account. Don't follow more people than those you are able to read. A good number is about 100 - 200.
