So you want to have a yard sale? Just a yard sale ? Or a yard sale that sells? You want buyers to buy. Then you have to make your yard sale inviting. A yard sale that says come in we have what you want. We have great bargains. Follow these steps and you will have a great yard sale.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Permits Signs small stick labels tables Apple, spice candle Coffee pot CD player or radio cookies and some small donuts
  1. Step 1

Make sure to have your permits if needed.

  2. Step 2

Make sure to advertise, let your family, friends and neighbors know. Place signs out on the streets to show the way to your yard sale.

  3. Step 3

Make sure the place you will have your yard sale is clean. Sweep and cleanup.

  4. Step 4

Make sure your kids are behaved . No one wants to look for bargains while kids are screaming and running around.

  5. Step 5

Do not lay things on the ground, no one wants to buy items laying on the ground. Not unless they are tires or like items.

  6. Step 6

Place breakable items in boxes, clean boxes. Line the boxes with wrapping paper and do not place too many items into any one box. Don’t forget the nicer it looks the more money you will get and the easier it will sell.

  7. Step 7

Clean your items. No one wants to buy a dirty items. The nicer it looks the more money.

  8. Step 8

Price your items right. If your not sure, visit Ebay. Do not price your items on what people on Ebay are selling their items for, but what they sold their items for. Do not look at just one seller, but at least five sellers.

  9. Step 9

Price all items and mark with sticker labels. You may want to consider having a sign which reads, ‘All reasonable offers considered. ‘.

  10. Step 10

Now you need atmosphere. How about a CD player or radio with some nice easy listening music, but not too loud. Coffee pot for some free coffee. Maybe some cookies or small doughnuts. Maybe burning an apple spice candle, ( Make sure you take care with the candle, and your candle is in a safe place. )

  11. Step 11

What you are going for is a store type atmosphere. You want your buyers to have a very pleasant buying experience, so the next time you have a yard sale, your buyers will show up.
