With the change of the weather, sometimes comes an increase in allergic rhinitis. This is another name for seasonal allergies or hay fever. Seasonal Allergies, or hay fever, can affect both children and adults.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First try to recognize the symptoms. Runny nose, watery eyes, sore throat, and red, itchy eyes can all be symptoms of seasonal allergies.

  2. Step 2

Try to identify what causes your allergy symptoms. This could be grass, ragweed, or tree pollen.

  3. Step 3

Next you may want to try over the counter products to control the symptoms. These come in various forms, but mostly work the same way by blocking the allergen. If one does not work, try another brand. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients.

  4. Step 4

Try home remedies such as a teaspoon of honey each day to help control allergies. The honey should be from an area close to where you live since the bees will use the types of grass and plants you are reacting to.

  5. Step 5

If the home method does not work, visit your doctor. He will be able to offer more options for treatment.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to control it at home first.
  • If necessary, see your physician.
