How to Get A Toddler To Clean Up

Toddlers should learn to put their toys away when they learn to pull them out. Making it fun will encourage your child to help. It's much easier for them if everything has a place.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Don’t overwhelm your toddler. Ask them to pick up one thing at a time. “Lets pick up the books” or “You pick up the books” and “I’ll pick up the blocks”. Have lot's of baskets and bins.

  2. Step 2

    Sing a song while you clean. Barney has a good song. Clean up clean up everybody everywhere. Clean up clean up everybody do your share. Clean up clean up everybody everywhere. Clean up clean up everybody do your share. Clean up clean up everybody everywhere. Clean up clean up everybody do your share.

  3. Step 3

    Play games while cleaning. Set the kitchen timer and try to beat the bell! Try tossing items in the baskets and bins. Have shelves that toddlers can reach for books.
